The BGF Battery Ground Fault Detector by DV Power is a lightweight, handheld device designed for the reliable detection and localization of cell-to-ground short circuits in battery packs. Ground faults in battery systems can pose safety risks, particularly in multi-cell battery strings with high voltage levels. The BGF series provides a quick and effective method to identify these faults, enhancing both safety and operational efficiency.
Capable of operating on battery systems up to 600 V DC, the BGF performs continuous monitoring of the battery string voltage and ground potential to detect any irregularities quickly and accurately.
As shown in the diagram above, through the use of two voltage channels and dedicated algorithms, the device can easily detect and locate the battery in the string where a ground fault has occurred.
